RPS C-FIT Housing Resource Hub shares resources and supports for RPS families experiencing housing instability.

2022 Housing Education Series

The Center for Families in Transition and Virginia Housing are hosting a series to help families access the resources and information they need to stay in our community and thrive! All sessions will be held via Zoom.

Searching for Housing?

House Hunters meets every Tuesday at 6pm. Receive expert advice on your housing search and share tips and resources with other RPS families searching for housing. Join at rvaschools.net/cfit-zoom or 1-301-715-8592 (Meeting ID: 634 427 6460). No registration is required.

Need Documents?

The below resources are specifically for families with RPS students eligible for McKinney-Vento protections.

Birth Certificates: C-FIT deliveries birth certificates to Virginia Department of Health on the third Thursday of the month and pick up for birth certificates will be from RAS on the first of the following month.

DMV Photo ID: C-FIT hosts the DMV at our office to support families who may not be able to travel to a DMV office. Next date: Monday, April 4th. Sign up for an appointment to obtain a DMV Photo ID.

Found Housing?

Move-in cost assistance: If you find housing and have a move-in date, RPS CFIT can refer you to a community partner for potential assistance with security deposit and first month's rent.

Furniture Support: If your family needs furniture assistance, C-FIT can refer you to CARITAS Furniture Bank and problem-solve other furniture options.
